Sharepoint - Download editable file from url in chrome -

We are stuck in using Internet Explorer in my company for the same reason: When you send a document to a SharePoint In IE, in IE, it opens the file as editable so when you save it, it is automatically saved on the server.

On the other hand, with Chrome or other browsers, it downloads an copy of this file, so users can loose the changes because they think that the file is server But it is not really ...

Anyone thinks about its solution?
