How to programmatically create MS Office .doc or .docx files on a linux server -

I used to read .doc files in the past, but now I have to type them.

What is the best way to go about this? I do not need to accurately or completely portray it.

There will be a quick and dirty method, to write your file in HTML and to doc the file Save as a form - Because the word can open HTML, you will have a Word file ^^
Be careful that if you have the file sometimes with the word "web-view-mode" selected
