Exchange ActiveSync support for Gmail in Android Lollipop -

Google has stopped supporting Exchange ActiveSync for Gmail shortly before with the exception of Google Apps for Business. However, one of the Android Forum says that Gmail will support Exchange 5.0. Does this mean that Android is with Lollipop, Google has started using Exchange Exchange Sync for Gmail again? The Android Lollipop documentation does not mention about this.

Support of the Gmail 5.0 exchange supports the Android Gmail App Exchange ActiveSync (EAS), the GML service Does not support EAS.
